Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

VibeFinder SAS, a French company registered in Paris under SIREN 102 496 775, at 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris. We are the data controller for everything described here.

Privacy questions go to privacy@vibefinder.com. We answer within 30 days.

2. What this policy covers

All three places VibeFinder runs: vibefinder.com, our homepage and waitlist; p.vibefinder.com, the app where you describe a vibe and get places to go; and our venue portal, where a business manages its own listing.

Each section below says what we collect where. If a section does not describe something you use, it does not apply to you.

3. The waitlist (vibefinder.com)

If you join the waitlist we store one thing: your email address. Nothing else. There is no account, no profile and no tracking attached to it.

We use it to tell you when we launch and to send occasional updates. We ask for your consent first, and you can withdraw it at any time by writing to privacy@vibefinder.com. We delete your address when you ask us to, or when the waitlist is retired, whichever comes first.

4. The app (p.vibefinder.com)

You can use the app without an account. If you search as a guest, we store the search so the results page works. Nothing about it identifies you.

If you create a profile, your name and email are stored separately from everything about your taste. Your questionnaire answers and the places you save sit under a random code rather than your name, and the single table linking that code to your account cannot be reached from any browser. A copy of the preference data on its own cannot be traced back to you.

When you search while signed in, a short anonymous summary of your taste travels with the query so the matcher can break ties in your favor. Your query always wins. Turn personalization off in settings and your searches behave exactly like a guest's. Group plans work the same way: only the blended taste of the group is used, never one person's on its own.

Separately, and off by default, you can let your age range help improve matching for everyone and feed the audience statistics venues see. Those statistics only ever show groups of five people or more, never you on your own. Turn it off and it is removed.

5. The venue portal

If you claim or manage a venue, we store your name, your email, the venue details you enter, and a record of what you published and when, so we can tell who changed what.

This is tied to your business rather than used to build a picture of you as a person. We do not blend it with anything from the consumer app.

6. Why we are allowed to process this

Your consent, for the waitlist, for the optional taste and age-range features, and for anything else you actively switch on. A contract with you, for running an account you asked us to create. Our legitimate interest, for keeping the service working, secure and free of abuse.

Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. That does not undo processing that already happened, but it stops it going forward.

7. How long we keep it

Waitlist addresses until you ask us to delete them or we retire the waitlist. Account data for as long as your account exists: delete the account and its data goes with it, immediately, from your own settings.

Searches not attached to an account are kept only while they are useful for improving matching, and carry no identifier that points back to a person.

8. Who else sees it

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. We do rely on service providers to run the product, and they process data only on our instructions:

Wix.com Ltd. (the Base44 platform), which hosts vibefinder.com. Vercel Inc., which hosts p.vibefinder.com. Supabase, which stores the app's database, in Paris. An AI model provider, currently Mistral AI, a French company. Its model chooses your matches and writes the explanation you read. If we change AI provider, we will update this page.

Some of these providers are established in the United States, so part of the processing happens there. Those transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

9. Cookies and tracking

There is no advertising or analytics tracking on any VibeFinder site. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party analytics of any kind.

The only things stored in your browser are the ones the product needs to work: your language, your light or dark preference, whether you agreed to share your location, and your sign-in session. Under EU rules these are exempt from consent, which is why you have never seen a cookie banner from us. If we ever add tracking, we will ask you first.

10. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere, restrict how we use it, or object to that use.

In the app you can do most of this yourself, instantly, from your profile settings, without emailing anyone. Otherwise write to privacy@vibefinder.com and we will answer within 30 days.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the product changes, and the date at the top tells you when it last moved. If a change actually affects you, we will say so rather than quietly editing the text.
